US primary market issuances were flat at $43.6bn vs. $43.8bn in the week prior to it. IG issuers took up $34.8bn of the total, led by SpaceX’s $25bn five-trancher and Republic Services’ $1.2bn two-tranche deal. HY deals stood at $6.4bn, led by Yondr JK’s $1.43bn two-part issuance, followed by Tutor Perini’s $800mn two-part deal. In North America, there were a total of 79 upgrades and 32 downgrades each across the three major rating agencies last week. US IG funds saw $2.99bn in inflows during the week ended June 24, adding to the $3.2bn inflows seen during the week before that. US HY bond funds saw $287mn in inflows during the week, adding to the $863mn inflows seen in the prior week.
EU Corporate G3 issuances fell to $33.3bn vs. $44.6bn a week earlier. Intesa Sanpaolo’s $4.2bn multi-currency four-trancher, along with Engie’s €1.6bn two-trancher and NatWest’s €1.55bn dual-tranche issuance led the tables. The region saw 13 upgrades and 24 downgrades across the three major rating agencies. Last week, the GCC dollar primary bond market saw $3.9bn in new deals as compared to $4.5bn in issuances seen in the prior week, with Emirates NBD raising $1.5bn, followed by FAB’s $750mn deal. In the Middle East/Africa region, there were 2 upgrades and no downgrades across the major rating agencies. LatAm issuances rose to $6.8bn vs. $1.6bn seen in the week prior, led by Mexico’s $6.3bn two-part deal and Pluspetrol’s $450mn issuance. The South American region saw 2 upgrades and downgrades each, across the three major rating agencies last week.
G3 issuances from the APAC ex-Japan region jumped to $15.3bn vs. $4.8bn a week prior to it. China’s €5bn three-tranche issuance led the tables, followed by DBS Group’s $2bn deal and Vedanta’s $1.75bn three-part issuance. In the APAC region, there were 19 upgrades and 2 downgrades across the three rating agencies.
